Klaus Mollenhauer’s late philosophical text, Forgotten Connections: On Culture and Upbringing (2014) deals in a highly original and accessible way with education in its most basic human and cultural constituents. As Saevi and Wivestad (1997) have described, this book can be seen as organized around six main themes and (sets of) questions. Each question corresponds to one of the book’s chapters and also to one or more keywords or themes. In this presentation, I cover each of these questions and themes in turn, and show how they are raised and brought into intimate interrelationship to one another in Mollenhauer’s Forgotten Connections.
